Following more than 45 years of a highly successful career, Wendy Sturgeon formed Ask Wendy, LLC, a New Jersey State Certified Small Business and Woman Business Enterprise. Ask Wendy is devoted to helping small and diverse businesses understand and navigate opportunities with government procurement and increase their visibility. Wendy joined the Mercer County Small Business Outreach Department in 2018. During her years at the county, Wendy developed a relationship with Woman Owned, Minority Owned, Veteran Owned and Small Business Enterprises, assisting them with government procurement opportunities in support of Mercer County’s Set-Aside Ordinance and the certification process with the State of New Jersey. In addition, Wendy was instrumental in forming The County Collaborative, comprised of counties with Set-Aside ordinances; Essex, Hudson, Bergen County, and the New Jersey Procurement Technical Assistance Center.
